ALBANY, GA --
The H.E.A.R.T. organization--'Hands Extended Across Reaching Together', got people energized Monday morning to get out and participate in community service.

Folks were out there bright and early at Mount Zion Baptist Church.

A 100 piece mass choir helped get people to their feet.

Overall, the message they were hoping to convey is that today is not a day off, but a day of service.

“When God is good to you, when He gives you the things you need to survive, He gives you those things so you can be a blessing to others. And so one of the things you always have to do is serve others,” says Mayor Dorothy Hubbard who welcomed everyone Monday morning.

School Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree was the keynote speaker at the event.
