ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Library Director is asking for the commission's support for a $2 million state grant from the Board of Regents that could be used for general improvements to the northwest branch.

Ashley Moore asked that commissioners speak to local delegation about supporting a grant that would help pay for roof repairs along with the expansion of the children's story time area and signage for the northwest branch located on Dawson Road.

Officials say it actually has the highest circulation of all the branches in Dougherty County with people coming to use the wireless internet, computers and e-books in addition to checking out books.
