Smoke causing trouble on U.S. 221/S.R. 31

ATKINSON COUNTY, GA -- Early Friday morning, smoke caused low visibility on U.S. 221/S.R. 31. The Georgia State Patrol requested that the Georgia Department of Transportation temporarily close the route.

The road was re-opened at around 9 A.M., but Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Department of Transportation urge drivers to proceed with caution as smoke is still in the area.
