ALBANY, GA -- Not many know that you can recycle that Christmas tree.

Judy Bowles with Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful says you can take it to a lake or pond  and create a natural reef for fish and other organisms to live on or enjoy.

The city of Albany will also pick it up and take it to the Maple Hill landfill where it will be turned into mulch, which is free to the public.

Or if landscaping is your hobby, you can always decide to plant the tree in your own back yard!
