ALBANY, GA. -- Albany’s Board of Commissioners has issued the final approval for the South West Georgia Regional Airport terminal bid.

The bid has been awarded to Walbridge Aldinger out of Tampa, Florida.

The board also made a decision that's set up to make communication easier for law enforcement.

A joint venture with Lee County will allow the city to set up a new radio system.

Communication between law enforcement has been a struggle due to outdated equipment.

Another award went out tonight to Albany Tech's President Anthony Parker.

Parker was acknowledged for his accomplishments achieved at the college.

“We’re 2nd in the state in graduation. We graduated over 3,400 students last year,” said Dr. Anthony Parker, “We had 98 percent placement and I think our team as a whole is making a difference in the community.”

The board also took time during the meeting to recognize the winners of the December 6th runoff election.
