ALBANY, GA -- The burglar that scuffled with Albany Technical College President Anthony Parker has been arrested.

Albany Police Department has announced the arrest of 30-year-old Kenneth Whitley. On November 2nd, Whitley was reportedly the white male inside the residence of Dr. Parker. Parker further stated that he noticed the suspect had a handgun.  A struggle followed between the two.  Parker was able to take the weapon and afterwards he call for a neighbor to assist him. But before help could arrive, the suspect fled on foot. Several items were taken from the house including a laptop.

During the investigation, Burglary Detectives with the Albany Police Department received information from authorities in Pulaski County regarding a witness who was in possession of the laptop. That witness helped APD detectives develop Whitley, who was in the Dougherty County Jail, as a suspect.  After being interviewed, Whitley was charged in the Parker case on December 5, 2011. This case has been cleared by arrest.
