It is the 12th year one NICU employee at Phoebe Putney arranges a visit from Santa for families
ALBANY, GA -- A special visitor made a stop at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Santa visited the babies and young children on the pediatric floor at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The kids received a hand decorated t-shirt from a NICU employee Beverly Pressley as well as a book. She says it is special for the parents to have Santa take pictures and videos with their child for their first Christmas.
"They love it when we open up the NICUfor the family and the children to come in, and the family has time to take picture and video with Santa and the little ones, the siblings, get to come in. They're all excited," says Pressley, who is a respiratory therapist in the NICU.
Pressley says even previous NICU patients return each year to see their first Santa. She says it is nearly the 12th year she help arrange Santa's visit to the NICU.
