ALBANY, GA -- A local transition house is receiving a free makeover as a part of the "Color Care Across America" campaign.

Benjamin Moore has spearheaded this nationwide initiative together with the United States Conference of Mayors and the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America.

Albany's transition home is located in the 1400 block of South Jefferson street.

On Wednesday morning, local officials came to show their support for the project and to put themselves to work too!

The "Transitions House" is one of 51 in the United States receiving the special treatment and workers on the project say it's going smoothly.

"Well right now we're working from nine to five thirty and we're hoping to do it in two or three days. Right now, it's going pretty good so maybe we can do it in two." said Brad Rooks.

The paint should be dry by Friday when the doors on the 15 bedroom facility and community room will be in use again.

"Color Care Across America" kicked off September 21st in Laredo, TX and Trenton, NJ, and its stop in Albany marks the completion of the initiative.
