Facebook SOTD: New mayor, now what?

Former city commissioner Dorothy Hubbard will become Albany's next mayor on January 9, 2012 / File

ALBANY, GA -- In our Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know what's next now that we have elected our next mayor.

Mayor Willie Adams still has the rest of the month left in office, but Dorothy Hubbard will be sworn in not long after the new year.

“On the 9th of January, Mayor elect Hubbard will be sworn in and she will assume the responsibilities,” says City Manager James Taylor.

After the swearing in, the commission will hold a retreat to discuss future goals and plans to make sure everyone is on the same page.
