Update: Warrants have been issued for Riggins

Authorities confirm Riggins has turned herself in.
1st Update
According to authorities, three warrants have been issued for Velvet Riggins. Two of which are misdemeanors for falsifying documents and one felony warrant for falsifying documents as a public official.
Bond has been set for $7000.
Her attorney has been contacted and Riggins is expected to turn herself over to the Dougherty County Sheriff's Office later today.
Initial Story
A Dougherty County School Board member is under investigation for allegedly falsifying information on her child’s 2011-2012 school lunch application , according to school police.
The investigation surrounding Velvet Riggins was launched last week according to School Police Chief Troy Conley.
Conley says that the document was brought to the attention of police by a school employee and that there were “things in the documents that caught their eye."
Police are working with the district attorney’s office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations on the case. They also say they are working with Riggins’ attorney to set up a formal interview.
Dougherty County School System attorney Tommy Coleman says “the board has no legal authority to remove her from her position,” and that decision would ultimately be the governor’s to make should Ms. Riggins be indicted and convicted on felony charges.
