ALBANY, GA. -- November is National Caregiver's month and local retirement home residents are saying thank you to those who help make their lives a little easier.

Century Pines Retirement Center on Gillionville Road held a gathering to honor those caregivers, sitters and anyone who helps make a difference in the lives of others.

Singer Roy Hanks made an appearance at the gathering to entertain the crowd.

The event organizer says it's time for staff members to feel appreciated.

“So often our caregivers go without any type of thanks or appreciation. So November is dedicated to honoring our caregivers,” said Century Pines Activity Director Corrine Reeves.

After the concert, participants joined for a dessert tasting.
