Special Olympics basketball tournament

Two local basketball teams received top honors at a local tournament.

The “Hot Shotz” Albany Recreation & Parks Special Olympic teams participated in the district games in Moultrie.

The 5-on-5 teal lost at the last second 25-26 against Mitchell/Baker.

This year was the first time the 3-on-3 team participated in the games.  They placed second, losing 6-15 against Mitchell/Baker.

The Albany team also placed second in the team skills challenge that involved dribbling, passing, and shooting.

A total of 23 athletes participated in the games!
