ALBANY, GA. -- As a part of the celebration of Albany’s 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement, locals got a chance to see a documentary to a film shot right here in Southwest Georgia about a mid-wife in the 1950s.

The film "All My Babies" chronicled successful mid-wife Mrs. Mary Coley. At the time of the film, she had delivered over 1,400 babies.

The movie served as a training guide on how to successfully birth children.

In 2007, the producer and director George Stoney and David Bagnall returned to the south to find all the babies birthed by Coley.

The Coley family attended the showing of the follow-up documentary “All My Babies Reunion” at the Albany Civil Rights Institute on Wednesday night.

It’s now been 50 years since the original film first aired.

In 2002 “All My Babies” was selected by the Library of Congress for permanent preservation in the National Film Registry.
