ALBANY, GA -- Dougherty County High School students have collected more than seventy coats to help people in need this winter.

The school’s marketing class held a drive to collect coats for the past two weeks.

They set a high goal to collect 100 coats. Even though they fell a little short, they were still surprised by the amount of support they received from fellow students.

“I am because usually students aren't as concerned about others. It was pretty cool to have students bring in something to help out,” said Candrea Byrd one of the marketing student.

The students donated those coats to the Salvation Army Tuesday.
