ALBANY, GA -- The old Albany Theatre building in Downtown Albany is slated to house retail and residential spaces, but a new inquiry may change that.

Downtown Manager Aaron Blair brought up at Wednesday’s Albany-Dougherty Inner City Authority (ADICA) meeting that he’s not releasing the name of the person but says they are interested in purchasing the building from ADICA.

“We just had an inquiry about the property, what are we doing with it, what are the potentials if they were interested in acquiring it from us, so we're just exploring that. But we're also not stopping moving forward with what we had planned to do,” says Blair.

Blair says if there is no progress with this inquiry next month, ADICA will move forward with turning the Albany Theatre into retail and residential space.
