ALBANY, GA -- Sylvester police say Wesley Wilkerson, 22, is wanted in connection with an armed robbery there that occurred two days before Wilkerson committed an armed robbery in Albany that later led to the death of an Albany police officer.
They say it could have been a part of a gang initiation.
Investigators say Wilkerson and another suspect robbed the Personal Finance business on North Main Street in Downtown Sylvester on Oct. 26. They say his cohort in the crime was not the same as the one in the Albany armed robbery (Kentrall Butler, 22).
Sylvester investigators say when Wilkerson has faced his charges in Dougherty County he will face charges in Sylvester included armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Act.
