ALBANY, GA -- An Albany burglar on the run in a stolen car was caught in Ashburn.

According to authorities, 29-year-old Phillip Harris was pulled over in Ashburn, Georgia on October 23rd by authorities after being spotted in the vehicle. He was brought back to Albany and placed in the Dougherty County Jail after Ashburn Police determined the vehicle was stolen.

Harris, age 29, was questioned by detectives this morning. After being interviewed, he was charged with buglary and criminal damage in regards to the buglary at the Thrift Food Mart on Brierwood Drive. He was also charged with one count of burglary and motor vehicle theft from Green Light Auto Sales where a Ford Explorer was taken on October 18th.

The Albany Police Department extends their thanks to the citizens of Albany for the tips submitted in this case.
