ALBANY, GA. -- Dougherty County school officials say since implementing "Rachel’s Challenge" at the beginning of this school year they've seen a difference in student behavior.

The program is based on a challenge initiated by Columbine shooting victim, Rachel Scott.

Her dream was for people to start a chain reaction that would combat bullying, while helping others develop their character.

One prevention specialist says the program is what Dougherty County schools needed.

“We've found that there has been a decrease in the number of bullying taking place in the schools as a result of Rachel’s Challenge because you're showing kindness. They can't be bad and good at the same time. So when you show that they are being good it spreads,” says Dougherty County School System Coordinator of Student Support Services Barbara Turner:

Thursday night students will begin a chain reaction by hanging links around a football field.
