ALBANY, GA -- Chicken, potato salad and baked beans were all on the menu Saturday as the Sheriff's Department held their annual community barbeque.

They served food for three hours giving people a free meal and a chance to rub shoulders with law enforcement. Their goal was to build unity in the community.

“One of my main goals behind this event was to come out and hear people's concerns and hear their issues, because sometimes  they feel like when people get into office or chief’s or sheriffs or people of that nature and we've taken a lot of concerns already today,” said Sheriff Kevin Sproul.

This is the second year of the cookout. They hope to do it again next year.
