ALBANY, GA. -- The county received a grant worth $356, 373 from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to start paving Livingston road.

Other streets scheduled to be paved include Flowing Well and Palmyra road. These projects will be funded by $1 million in advanced funding and money from SPLOST five.

During the Tuesday meeting, the board also agreed to hire a firm to finalize plans on a new radio communication system.

“It's on this board to use the TUSA Consulting firm because they are the experts on radio systems and we want to know we're going to get the best bang for our buck,” said Lee County Commission Chairman Ed Duffy.

More than $1 million will be used on the new radio system.
