The Albany Symphony Orchestra receives a 6-figure gift

ALBANY, GA -- Albany philanthropist and businesswoman Jane Willson donated $100,000 to the Albany Symphony Orchestra for their upcoming season.

Willson is known for her generous donations to the arts.  In a statement she says “I am choosing to support the symphony because it is a valued asset to a community of our size.  I have always loved going to the symphony, and I believe it is important to support the arts and culture of Albany’s community”.

The Executive Director of the ASO says the money will go toward operating costs for the season which includes six concerts.

The orchestra kicks off their new season on October 8, 2011 at Mt. Zion Church in Albany.
