ALBANY, GA -- Wednesday’s Facebook Story of the Day is a follow up on a story FOX 31 reported about in August regarding a skull found at Riverside Cemetery. Viewers wanted to know what ever came of that skull.

According to Dougherty County Coroner Emma Quimbley, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab determined the skull is from an approximately 30 year old black or Hispanic person.

Authorities say there’s not enough information to determine much else.

“It's not proven that the skull did come from the flood of 94 and we can't say the skull is of a homicide nature as well because there was no obvious trauma to that skull,” says Quimbley.

Quimbley says GBI anthropologists found glue on the head, which could mean it was used as a part of a cadaver. Again, authorities say there are no definite conclusions yet; just hypotheses.

“You hope that you can solve every case that you deal with; sometimes they don’t, sometimes they go cold,” says Quimbley.
