Albany police have arrested Venorris Edwards, 25, in connection with a car accident that sent Capt. Reginald Brown, 45, with APD Special Operations to the hospital. Police say Edwards was the driver of the Mustang that crashed into Brown's car.
APD is charging Edwards with failure to yield at a stop sign, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident with injuries and damage, expired registration and having no proof of insurance.
According to police, Edwards was on Dalewood Road in his Mustang and failed to yield at the stop sign as he turned right onto Gillionville. As a result, Edwards struck Brown.
APD says Brown is at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and doing well.
Police say they are not looking for any other men involved in this crash because Edwards was the only one in the car during the accident.
