Updated: Police find body believed to be McKeller

TIFTON, GA -- Update:

Officials in Tift County believe they found the body of a woman who went missing Thursday night.

71-year-old Hazel McKeller went missing from her home Thursday night.

Officials with the Tift County Sheriff's Office found a body in a pond about five miles away from McKeller's home and believe it to be her.

The body will be sent to the crime lab in Atlanta for further identification.


An elderly Tifton resident is currently missing and authorities need your help locating her.

According to authorities, 71-year-old Hazel Lee McKeller was reported missing this morning shortly after midnight from her residence at 1485 Shanna Drive.  She is reported to have walked away on foot from her home.  She is believed to be wearing blue sweat pants, blue shirt and a blue hoody and white shoes.

Mrs. McKeller suffers from medical conditions and is 5 feet 5 inches in height, weight 130 pounds and has white hair.
