ALBANY, GA. -- Two people are in the hospital after being involved in an accident with an 18-wheeler.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Clark Avenue and Hill Road in Sylvester around 5:00 p.m. Monday evening.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle entered the roadway attempting to head west on Clark when he was struck in the rear by the semi-truck.

Police had to uses jaws of life to get the victims out of the car. They were transported to a local hospital along with a third passenger who was not injured.

Police say they have an idea of who's at fault.

“More than likely the car will be charged with improperly entering the roadway, failure to yield in the roadway,” said Dougherty County Police A.G. Rogers.

The driver of the semi truck was not injured in the accident. There's no word on the condition of the victims.
