WORTH COUNTY, GA -- Police arrested Thomas Harold Duncan, Jr. for Monday’s hit-and-run on Highway 33.

According to the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, Duncan turned himself in at 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Duncan is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and was released on a $5,000 bond.

Authorities say citizen’s tips help identify Duncan as the driver of a white van that hit Priscilla Carter on Monday. His vehicle was tracked in Thomasville on Thursday.

Officials say Duncan was dozing at the wheel — they say he thought he hit a deer which is why he kept going.
