More students enrolled in school for first few weeks.

ALBANY, GA. -- Dougherty County school enrollment hasn't officially been tallied up for the month of August, but officials are certain they have a larger turnout that last year.

They say based on last year's end of year count, 93 percent of students returned to school within the first two weeks.

A representative for the school board says that's more students than they had during last year’s March tally.

Officials say not only do they have more students that returned from last year, but there has been an increase of students in general.

The final numbers are expected to be completed next week.
