Group holds meeting to train parents.
ALBANY, GA. -- Parents for change met on Tuesday to discuss their ongoing mentoring program.
The group has only been in existence for one year, but that hasn't affected their pull in the community.
Mentors have spoken at churches, schools, and other community events to reach out to both kids and parents.
They say their efforts are all about preserving the future.
“We go into sectors of the community and target those individuals that may be having a hard time in school or disciplinary problems,” said Parents for Change Representative Tony Moore, “Some of our young adults are looking for somebody that actually cares.”
Right now organizers are in phase three of a training course to help parents.
