ALBANY, GA -- Usually the Albany rotary club holds their monthly meetings indoors at the Doublegate Country Club.
But Thursday the club took their meeting outside, as part of their mission to literally clean up the streets of Albany.
They were out picking up trash along Nottingham Road. They were specifically looking to pick up cigarette butts.
“It’s just amazing to me that people that smoke feel like they are not littering when they throw that cigarette butt down, but it's litter and it's bad for economic development and it's just bad looking,” said Albany Rotary Club President Steve Allen.
The rotary club hopes to come out another five times this year at different locations across the city to pick up cigarette butts.
