ALBANY, GA -- In Tuesday's Facebook story of the day, you wanted to know the health risks of using a computer.

Dr. Jerry Prchal with Albany Eye Care says long periods of time spent at the computer can result in eye strain which leads to headaches.

He says make sure the contrast on your screen is set to a comfortable level to reduce strain.

“When you say strain, what you're really talking about is the ability of the eye to keep that image clear and if it can't, then your optical system of the eye is always trying to adjust or focus to try to make it clear somehow,” says Dr. Prchal.

Prchal says to take frequent breaks if you have to be at the computer for extended amounts of time.
