Updated with video; Firefighter falls through floor while battling fire; Albany fire officials are investigating if a homeless person caused the blaze

ALBANY, GA -- An Albany firefighter was injured while helping to contain a fire at 104 S. West Road at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday.

Albany Fire officials say the fire began in the bathroom of the home that has been vacant for six months. They say $30,000 worth of damage was done.

One firefighter’s leg fell through the floor causing a broken ankle.

The fire department is investigating a cause but say anytime a fire starts at a vacant home they look into the homeless as a possible reason.

In March, a fire at the same house revealed there was a marijuana grow house set up in the closet.
