ALBANY, GA. -- We're a few days out from finding out the fate of tropical storm Irene, but forecasters say there is a possibility that the she could hit this area.
To prepare, the National Hurricane Center says one of the first things to do is develop a family plan. Also put together a disaster supply kit. This could include items such as flash lights, batteries, and a generator.
The next step is securing your home, but some say, there's only so much you can do.
“That's the work of the Lord. We just have to keep praying and stay prayed up. When the hurricane comes the Lord will direct our path,” said Albany resident Alvin Hightower.
The National Hurricane Center is releasing the plan to prevent loss of life and minimize storm damage.
