DECATUR, GA -- The parents of the football player who died while practicing in triple digit temperatures addressed reporters this morning, calling for an investigation into the Georgia High School Association.

Don'terio "D.J." Searcy, 16, was practicing at the Florida Bible Camp in Lake City, Fla., when he lost consciousness, and evetnually died Aug. 2. Searcy lost consciousness the day before, his parent's attorneys said.

His parents, Carlton and Michelle Searcy, held a news conference outside of Atlanta Tuesday where they asked authorities to investigate any potential wrongdoing by the coaches.

Their attorneys, Jasmine Rand and Benjamin Crump, said coaches forced Searcy to practice without water breaks in temperature exceeding 100 degrees.

"Unless we start to hold people accountable and make sure that  coaches are following procedure they're going to continue to have unfortunate and untimely deaths like they had here in Georgia," said Crump.
