The family of Don’terio "DJ" Searcy, the Fitzgerald High School football player who passed away at camp in early August, say they're asking for a full-fledged investigation.

In a press release Carlton and Michelle Searcy say they plan to speak to the media and the Georgia High School Association about the conditions surrounding their son's death.

They claim coaches didn’t call 911 nor the parents after he passed out in a bathroom after a hard day of practice.  They also claim coaches denied players’ water breaks in triple degree weather, and threatened to make teammates do rigorous exercise if DJ didn’t complete his drills.

The Searcy family says they want an investigation into any potential policy violations.
