ALBANY, GA. -- FOX 31 is showcasing Sherwood Christian Academy for its Good News of the day.

On Monday the school opened its new sports training facility for athletes to use to prep and recover from games.

The school held an open house at the field house for families to take a look inside.

The building is stocked with a weight room, boys and girls locker rooms and even a medical recovery section.

Officials say although it took years to complete, it was worth the wait.

“The plans went up about six years ago. Then the economy hit us and prices went up. This is something that over the last year in a half has been under construction and everybody's been waiting for it to open,” said Sherwood Christian Academy Head Master Dr. Glen Schultz.

He says the building opening came just in time for football season.
