ALBANY, GA -- Two Albany police officers were treated for minor injuries after an early morning crash.

Around 2:00 AM, Albany Police Department officers Gregory Gadt and Alex Guy were responding to a burglary in progress call. While traveling west on West Oglethorpe Boulevard, an unknown make and model vehicle traveled north on South Davis St. The suspected vehicle ran a red light, and then entered the intersection causing Officer Gadt to maneuver to avoid hitting the vehicle according to officers.

Authorities say Gadt attempted to regain control of the vehicle and spun around while hitting the curb, a tree and a sign. The driver of the second vehicle left the scene. Both officers were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for a checkup.
