ALBANY, GA. -- Darton College athletes spent Sunday checking into their new homes. The school has opened some new dorms to the students so that they can get settled before the general population check in on Thursday.
Representatives for the campus say this gives the athletes the opportunity to get their physicals out of the way and take care of other needs before school starts.
Check-ins started around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday and went on throughout the day.
One of the residential advisors was there to assist the students.
“We help them get their things upstairs. We do room checks to make sure they don't get charged for any damages that didn't belong to them and then we hand over the keys and then they will sign a contract, which will be a ten month contract,” said Darton College Residential Assistant Rodney Jones.
Full move in is scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
