ALBANY, GA -- Southwest Georgia’s local version of American Idol continues this weekend.

The second round of Albany Star is set for Saturday.

But officials say they need more people to sign up. Right now they're only about half-way to their target number of participants.

“Our goal is 50, we have about 20 now. We're encouraging our younger singers, ages eight to 14 to come in and sign up because we want to showcase our younger talent,” said Roni Ware of Albany’s Recreation and Parks Department.

The location is the Albany Veteran's Park Amphitheather from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

People can register by heading over to the Recreation and Parks main office at 1301 N. Monroe Street or by calling (229) 430-5222 or (229) 869-8215.
