ALBANY, GA. -- Following the death of one of their peers, teammates at the Lee County Wrestling Club say they have something to smile about.
On Thursday they held the opening for their new wrestling facility. The building has been in the works for over a year.
Until now, the wrestling team says they didn't have a designated place of their own to practice. Two of their state champs attended the opening.
The coach says as they open the new facility they remember Benjamin Graham.
“We certainly have heavy hearts and Ben Graham; he embodied the Lee County Wrestling team. He was a hard tough kid and I think he'd be very happy,” said Wrestling Coach Tom Matheny.
The coach says in the near future the team plans to have a ceremony to commemorate their lost athlete.
