NEWTON, GA -- Authorities are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in a car early Thursday morning in Baker County.

Andy Belinc, the Baker County coroner, said William Antoine Flake, 32, died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Flake was found Thursday in a Mercury Marquis about 7:00 am by a truck driver on Milford Church Road off of Highway 37, Belinc said. He said an autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.

Records from the Georgia Department of Corrections show Flake was released from prison in January after serving five years for cocaine posession. His lenthgy record, which includes six convictions, started in 2001 when Flake was convicted of cocaine possession.
