Friday was the last day of the leadership conference for the Dougherty County School System

ALBANY, GA -- Friday was the last day of the leadership conference for the Dougherty County School System. It ended with a pep talk.

Superintendent Joshua Murfree gave his charge to get teachers pumped up for the new school year.

He wants educators to not only more involved with their students, but also the community.

“I said to them we are as great as we think we are. We have great teachers, we have great administrators we just have great people in this district. We can do whatever we want to do. I want them first and foremost to believe in self. If they believe in self, they can take young people to a totally different level,” said Murfree.

The school year starts August 1.
