ALBANY, GA -- Re-gifting doesn't have to be a bad thing.

The Lily Pad was on the receiving end of a wagon full of quilts from Phoebe Putney Hospital Wednesday.

Phoebe originally got the quilts from a donation from Quilters from Comfort, an online sewing community.

But hospital volunteers new the perfect place to send the quilts. Now the lily pad will now use the 40 quilts for their suitcase project.

“I don't sew, but I know just enough to know, that it takes hundreds of hours to do this. So when they came rolling in with this wagon full of quilts, we were literally blown away because we knew that this is thousands of hours of love and compassion for little children and we were just not prepared for something on this scale,” said Karen Kemp, director of the Lily Pad.

Those suitcases are also packed with stuffed animals and hygiene products that they send home with abused children.
