Monday was not a good day at work for Rebecca Licona.
“I had two customers walk out and leave and get in their car. As they were backing out a guy came in with a gun and demanded money,” she said.
She was working when a man walked into the Pitt Stop convenience store on Sylvester road at about 10 p.m. and put a gun in her face.
“At first I thought it was a joke, because he came in with a wig and sun glasses and then he pointed at me and said give me all the money, so i knew it wasn't a joke anymore,” said Licona.
Police believe the robber is 19-year-old Tyrafred Campbell. Detectives say he got away with about $300 and some change, but even after getting the loot he wasn't done.
“As he left the store I had a customer proceed to pull out right there at the road and he fired two shots at the customer and left,” said Licona.
“He observed the robbery and he waited and the guy came out and he hollered at the guy just out of instinct 'hey what are you doing.' that's when Mr. Campbell fired two shots at him,” said Det. Chad Kirkpatrick.
Detectives say right after the suspect finished robbing the store he walked about a mile down the street to the Fast Lane convenience store and did another stick-up.
“The officers were on the way and as soon as they got to the Pitt Stop, then they were re-directed to the Fast Lane also. And both stores had the same description of a black male wearing a wig, same description of the handgun,” said Det. Kirkpatrick
This time the suspect got away with about $1,200 in cash. Officers are hoping witnesses come forward to make his get-away short lived.
“He is about 5’11, 175 pounds. He is armed and dangerous he has shot at someone already,” said Det. Kirkpatrick.
