ALBANY, GA -- Storms played havoc with drivers Saturday afternoon, several roads flooded and power outages across the city.

The traffic light was out at the intersection of Slappey Boulevard and Pine Avenue Saturday.

The rain continued in the heart of the city for over an hour.

Whispering Pines was under water, as well as parts of Highland Avenue.

Power lines were also down at South Slappey and West Gordon Saturday.

Water, Gas and Light crews were out until 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning making sure everyone was back up and running.

Officials with WG&L say several thousands were without power for most of Saturday.

There was also a downed tree that fell on power lines at North Harding Street and 4th Avenue Sunday afternoon at 12:30.

No one was hurt, but crews had to cut power to the entire street before touching it.

They say never go near a downed power line; instead call 911 or the fire department.
