Hudson assumes command of Marine Corps LOGCOM

Kessler headed to the Pentagon

ALBANY, GA -- Major General Charles L. Hudson assumed command of the Marine Corps Logistics Command at an early morning ceremony Thursday, succeeding Major General James A. Kessler, who is headed to the Pentagon after two years in Albany.

Hudson, who has 30 years experience in the military, was also awarded his second star at a private ceremony before the public parade at the Marine Corps Logistics Base.

Hudson’s last assignment was at Camp Pendleton in California where he served as commanding general of the 1st Marine Logistics Group. He recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan where he was stationed in Helmand Province. He has also participated in operations in Grenada, Lebanon and Iraq.

Hudson is a graduate of the Marine Corps Amphibious War School, Marine Corps Command and Staff College and the Marine Corps War College.
