ALBANY, GA -- There was some fun and friendly competition Saturday morning between local cops and firefighters.

The Albany Police Department held their annual Community Awareness Day at CW Heath Park.

Officers invited families to come out and play some games with off duty cops and firefighters.

“It's just a day where we get to interact with the public and the public gets to meet us and enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy the excitement and get to meet us and know that we're not always working,” said Sgt. Tracey Hudson.

Police and firefighters battled it out in a tug of war challenge. The firefighters took this year’s trophy to the fire station.
