EARLY COUNTY, GA. -- Early County is poised to get hundreds of new jobs with the creation of a state of the art military and civilian gun training facility called the American International Marksmanship Academy.

The academy is part of Early County’s 50-year economic development initiative.  The new facility will be used for training, education, and shooting competitions for the military, law enforcement, and civilians.

The academy will bring 100 new jobs immediately and up to 400 jobs upon completion.  The large facility in Blakely will have three training areas on 2300 acres of land.

Officials say the large facility in Blakely will bring people and groups from all over the world which will greatly benefit the Southwest Georgia economy.
