County employees will contribute to retirement plan

The recommendation was approved in a commission meeting Wednesday

ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Commission approved a recommendation Wednesday for employees to pitch in to their own retirement fund.

If the budget is approved next week, employees will have to contribute three percent of their base pay to their retirement plan.

It would take effect January 1, 2012.
