ALBANY, GA -- The Willson Hospice House was presented with a check for $20,000 Tuesday morning!

The money was donated from the Snickers Marathon, which donates their earnings each year to the center.

Officials with the center say they are able to buy much needed equipment for their patients.

Catherine Glover with the Albany area Chamber of Commerce also says there is now a much deeper link between the chamber and the hospice center.

Vice President of the CVB, Sarah Underdown passed away from cancer a couple years back and Wendy Martin with the Chamber passed away only a month ago.

“To know that the legacy of these dear ladies are living on through the marathon and through the Willson Hospice House means a lot to all of us, it's especially close and personal,” said Glover.

In total, the Snickers Marathon has donated $95,000 over the past five years for the Willson Hospice Center.
