Facebook fans want to know how downtown Albany is progressing.
ALBANY, GA. -- For Fox 31’s Facebook story of the day, fans wanted to know about the new additions coming to downtown Albany.
Officials said they are making efforts to vamp up the nightlife in the downtown area. A new oyster bar and pizza parlor is set to open soon.
The oyster bar will have live music to compliment the food. The venue will be open for the dinner crowd and will stay open until around 11:00 p.m.
Aaron Blair, downtown Albany City Manager, is optimistic that other restaurants will follow suit.
“With the success that they are going to bring to the nighttime, we are hoping that a lot of our other restaurants will stay open as well,” said Downtown City Manager Aaron Blair, “I know with the new downtown pizza parlor, Café 230 has been talking about staying open as well since they will be neighbors."
Blair said the city has created a map of downtown that will be placed around the city for tourists.
